Alexandra Riverside Park
The Alexandra Riverside Park project is a proposed $3.46million multi-purpose community development to rejuvenate the downtown area of lower Tarbert Street, Alexandra. It will link the township to the riverside by establishing a community and heritage greenspace and precinct which will include a terraced riverside area, boat launching pontoon and local heritage elements. The project will bring alive a neglected and forgotten about end of town. It will provide a greenspace and focal point for locals and visitors to the cycle trails and local attractions. Also, the construction of a purpose-built pontoon will provide safe and easy access to the river for recreational and commercial users. Find out more about the project and anticipated community benefits. The project has been developed by the Alexandra Miners Village & Riverside Park Trust. The charitable trust has trustees Rory McLellan (chair), David Ritchie, Lindsay Breen and Gordon Rayner. Lynda Gray is the project co-ordinator.
